About the Event

Helena Gerrish tells the story of the house and gardens of Mounton House near Chepstow which were developed by Henry Avray Tipping (1855-1933) who was a prolific and distinguished architectural historian with many fine books to his name and a garden designer of note..


Helena is the owner & restorer of the gardens at High Glanau, Monmouthshire, also originally designed by Avray Tipping, which the Group visited in June.  Helena is a  writer who contributes to Country Life Magazine, amongst other publications. She obtained an MA in Garden History from Bristol University & has published  ‘Edwardian Country Life , The Story of H Avray Tipping,’ and ‘Mounton House The Birth & Rebirth of an Edwardian Country Home.’
